![]() ![]() ![]() Spent a LOT of time at the Abbey in and after college while living in the area and often visit during trips home now. Didn’t want to stay in Canton because you can still smoke in bars in Missouri (please, Missouri, you need a public smoking ban, UGH). Visited during Culver-Stockton homecoming weekend. Sometimes that’s what I love about the Abbey, and sometimes that’s what drives me crazy about Quincy in general. The only thing I could taste was the dry center portion of the potato! I would visit any other McClean restaurant before visiting The Abbey again, but with that said I think we will happily make Tiramisu our restaurant of choice when visiting the Quincy area.įour stars because it’s in Quincy and takes me back to my youth. The Twice Baked Potato, I really would love to send my wife there for a day to teach them how to make a real Twice Baked Potato! The Abbey’s version is literally a baked potato with a small slip in the top where they place an extremely small amount of cheese and bacon. The exact steak was brought back two me with my two bite marks a near done center. After bringing this to the attention of the waitress, especially because it is a $ 22 menu item, she takes the steak back where the chef clearly threw my steak back on the grill to season it, unfortunately cooking it more than I like. ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR! I am quite certain I have never had a less flavorful piece of meat. My dinner choice was the Cowboy Steak with a «Twice Baked Potato.» The Steak was initially brought out to me cooked the way I like, medium rare. The Shrimp was prepared nicely, sized perfectly, and priced fairly. My wife had the Shrimp Dinner which consists of a bed of Wild Rice, steamed Broccoli and breaded Shrimp. Unfortunately the service and the house Strawberry Vinaigrette was the end of the high praise. My 3 rd time being to The Abbey, and probably the last! Myself, my wife and a friend stopped in for Christmas dinner last night and despite the restaurant being absolutely crowded we received exceptional service.
